Help.... Slipping post

I went to the local car boot sale and picked up a sorry looking bike for £10... After much research found out its a 95 claud butler enduro

I got it home, and started building it up, any way no matter how hard I tighten seatpost will still move and slip, I can't tighten it anymore

I have tried shims, grease everything, any advice would be much appreciated.

Try some sandpaper wrapped around some dowel to sand out the tube inner, i had to do this too

I resolved a slipping post issue by swapping the 26.6mm seatpost for a 26.8mm. Try a different post, next size or 2 up - but don't try jamming a too-big post in there and damaging the frame or the post.

What were you using for a shim? If you can get a shim in there then the post must be undersized to the wazoo.

Also, it might be an optical illusion with the photo, but the post looks bent.

Looks like time to read the size stamped on the post and compare that to a vernier caliper reading of the seat tube. A good bike shop should have a seat tube sizing gauge which should also remove all doubt as to what size you need.
