Anti-theft parts bin sh*tter.

Definitely going to look at fashioning a scruffy front flap. Cables are still a WIP, I tried aging some but it also looked too contrived. I think I'll just dirty them up with some thinned paint washes.

Levers have rust on the bolts, as do the front brakes. The bike should mature nicely as it gathers a bit of grime. I'll keep the running gear and brakes meticulously clean but will allow dust and dirt to accumulate where it won't cause any mechanical issues.

It's a really comfortable and crisp feeling ride.

You must dye your chain oil
rust-orange!
It's giving the game away😬
Time will add plenty of age to every part of the bike including the chain. This isn't meant to be one of those carefully preserved patina'd bikes that look ancient but are beautiful in their way. And of course we're all looking at this knowing what it is, a lovely old frame with some decent parts dressed as a beater, to anyone else it's just an ugly beater.

Thieves are in a hurry, they won't suddenly pause, don a deerstalker, spark up a pipe and pull out a magnifying glass as they go full Sherlock Holmes, forensically investigating the true voracity of the overall sh*ttiness because something seems off about the chain oil. 🤣

I'm assuming you have given your own "outfit" as much attention?- can't wait to see photos.

Might be worth taking a flat cap and a little cardboard sign with
"please help god bless you"
written on it?
apostrophes and commas, because "I like cooking my family and my pets" just leaves you sounding like a psycho rather than a loving family member. :)
