i remember reading the one thumby thing, was it to do with being so spent at the end of a race that he only had the energy to lean on a thumby to change gear?

I thought it was that if the indexing went, he could flick the switch and put them into non-indexing :?

reliability during races, sti clogged quite badly and thumbies dont so he ran 1 ,i did the same for a year but only because i broke my dx rapid fire lol

Kev, have you got your grubby paws on a nice team Dyna-Tech then?

I had a Team Raleigh replica BITD, was my first 'proper' MTB (Raleigh Lizard first).

In fact, did my first race on it, got 3rd place at the Broom Heath Scramble! Was well chuffed!

I ended up putting a Girvin Flex Stem on it, loved it to bits, 18 speed Suntour and everything.... ;)

I have one , posted earlier on the forum, but got myself an M-Trax instead now (i grew couple of inches since 1991!) which I am going to do up - will post some pics soon...

Selling my Dyna-Tech team pro frame [think its 17"] and xc pro goodies [bit tatty some of them though] if anyone's interested?!

Yes, got a Dynatech in my size - am planning it giving it the full replica treatment but its got to be 100% period correct as I don't take criticism well :D

I remember the one tumby thing, think he said it was that when his fingers got cold/numb he could use his palm to change gear.
