Help identifying gt 90s mtb

The frame number means it's not a Zaskar, so probably a Panthera I think.

Still very much worth building up and riding.

Yeh quite possibly a Pantera flat end cap alloy frame

i think the early silver coloured pantera use to come with a 500LX or Deore LX group so maybe the front and rear mech are original.

flip flop stem aswell

And on the other hand I want to paint it to factory spec and colour
does anyone happen to have a catalogue for this year?

My money's on '92 Pantera.

UK spec was mostly LX, (front and rear mechs, shifters), 500LX cranks, Deore cantis and 'Shimano' hubs (no other markings), with Ritchey Vantage Sport rims. Original stem looked the same as the flip-flop, but wasn't reversible. I can check the serial of my '92, if that helps to identify? IIRC, any Zaskar should have '6061' stamped on one of the dropouts.

Still a nice bike though - colours that year were either Silver or 'Inferno' orange/red. And if you manage to find a source for the proper decals for that year, please let me know :)

Okay, just seen the rest of the photos. Rims match Pantera spec, as do the stem and cantis. You've also got the non-bologna lite forks, which also makes sense. Deffo Pantera and apart from the paint job, bars and shifters, it's remarkably original...

Will build it to ride then
thanks guys

Will be going front sus and be getting the frame powder coated.

Does anyone know it a 9 speed cassette fit in this frame?
