Surely just get a replecement crankset and matching BB if the crankset need a BB axle length that is not in your bike currently.
Hi the bike is from about 88 it`s the white and pink,The crank was serviced two months ago.The LBS have said what some of the crank sets they tried are to wide throwing the chain off line with the rear cogs.So am hoping that someone somewhere will know a make of crank set that will work.So I can pass the information on to them.Regards John.beagle":165tijcc said:How old is the Mustang? We had a fairly modern one in the shop for repair yesterday, with suspension and everything. I was shocked that they still make them.
Surely you can use just about any square taper crank on it? Don't see a problem there, it might be that they're having trouble with the old Raleigh BB as suggested above. If it's been in the frame for 30-odd years chances are it needed looking at. It's true that it can be difficult to get the parts to repair older, lower end (no offence) bikes so bare with your LBS.
