Help adding pictures from an iPhone XR

As above really, every time I try add a picture from my phone it’s coming up around 4.7mb and the max allowed is 3.0mb. What am I doing wrong ? :facepalm:

I take a screen shot and then quickly trim the crap off to just leave the picture once more and post

the quality is still acceptable for a webpage

If I crop the picture in my phone photo gallery it jumps to 7mb,

When I upload pictures on my iPad there's a size option just below the selected image. Go for "large" rather than "actual size".

I would upload a screenshot but it saves them as PNGs and the forum doesn't seem to like them! :facepalm:

Plus it should stop the image from uploading sideways, however if that persists then simply edit the pic by cropping it a little, re-save, and that issue goes away.
