Help a Canuck with some Sunn?

Greetings from BC, Canada! Great forum. Thoroughly enjoyed going through some of the threads. Well, a lot of them!

I need some help....I just had a great day on Saturday and rekindled memories from my younger years. I went to a garage sale and bought a beautiful rigid MTB from my era that I had never heard of...decal set showed “sunn xircuit max” and “Made in France”. It has a great wheel set (Mavic/Sachs and Mavic/ Brubz3) but I didn’t recognize the front hub as I’d never heard of “Brubz3”. It had XTR and XT bits. I searched google and almost all the results are non-english...except for here.

I also have Off Road Toad, Brodie Climbmax

Here’s some pix of my new Sunn ride though;

I was hoping the fine participants here could help me out with a little info on the bike.

I'm no expert but it looks like 1998 although my catalogue from that year has that model as a soft tail type frame and specced with a whole load of different kit

Price wise was about £1K

HI and welcome .

Sunn is a french brand which stills exists today . They used to have a massive team .

I am no expert on Sunn but if you contact Xxejen on this forum , he will tell you all you need to know . There is also a dedicated Sunn forum , but it is in french , there should be plenty of pic though .
Late 90s should be production time . Hubs are own brand of Sunn and are very popular and sought after within Sunn collectors .

It'd take a bit of work. They're all boxed and stored in the chicken coop and haven't been looked at for years.

I think it might be a '88. I was going to look up Paul and ask him one day but never got around to it. Most of the fillet-brazing ended in one year here and switched to TIG. So I think '90 might to be new for it. If I pull the Toad out I'll pull it out as well and maybe someone more knowledgeable than myself can have a go at dating it.

I can't remember which model this was, but "old" bikes show up all the time here. This is well worth the money, imo.
