Steel + aluminium (in contact) + water (salty) = a battery. Meaning that over time the aluminium suffers.

Always grease very well before intalling a BB.

I did have a BB that had to be cut out with a dremel tool. Lucky my shop liked me or it would have cost me an arm and leg.

just as a point of interest, I thought I read somewhere that the likes of GT85 and WD40 aren't true penetrating oils, but rather water dispersants and light lubes so aren't as effective as a 'proper' penetrating oil.

i always use plusgas
