Hello! - Searching for a GT Zaskar,

Hi Guys,

Im new to this club so just thought id say a quick hello! and ask one or two questions that im hoping you peeps can help with.

Im a fan of the old school style GT bikes and I currently have a Ball burnished LTS1, im trying to find a ball burnished GT Zaskar for sale and was wondering if anybody here could throw me a few feeders to were I can get hold of one (or if anybody here has one for sale?), there are one or two on ebay but I was really after better spec components, I suppose I could always change all the components to XT but that would be quite pricey im guessing - any ideas what it might cost to buy 2nd hand XT componants and have them fitted?.

Any input on this would be much appreciated.

I've just bought a complete 1992 model for 180 Euros. That is, with 1992 XT gruppo , plus a syncros stem.
Expect more for a modern version. For example cjax's price sounds honest...

Just a case of looking and waiting then jumping on one when it apears at the right price, i've seen a few nice Zaskars in the short time i've been on here.

A rough guide for XT stuff, i used M739 on my Clockwork, STI units, front and rear mechs, and V brakes complete with pads and bolts etc came to around £70 bought on here from the sale section, all top condition too though one of the STI's needed a small repair but that was no problem.

Looks like changing the componants may well be a good option ill keep an eye out for a decent set of XT's also.

I'll keep you posted and let you know how i get on, just out of interest what do you reckon a 95-97 ball burnished zaskar is worth (Xt componants) ive seen them going for quite high premiums

cheers for that mate, I have been looking at this one but all the componeants are LX, thought it would be too pricey to replace them all for XT's wasnt sure if it was worth the hastle especially at the price he is asking and then just to replace everything?
