Headtorch Recommendations?

Looking to update. Hoping for plug in charging, lightweight. Rear lamp a must.
Currently have a fleet of these rather old ones.

Can't help much, my knowledge of headtorches ended in the mid 90's at petzls with filament bulbs and 3x AA batteries

Yes. Times they are a changing indeed! I remember when going out riding at night involved lots of carrots.

I had some Ever Ready bike lights that ran on 4 D-Cells, weighed about 6 kg each

And when you hit a bump,
the lights jump out of that white plastic clip thingy,
smash on the ground
and you grovel around in the dark trying to find all the little bits and pieces
to reassemble it in the dark,
light up and ride home.

Ah those were the days

The weird thing is, people are buying 'classic' ones and using them without upgrades!

Just before the introduction of white LEDs, lasted 8 hours on a pair of c-cells. Say 80 miles?
I thought that overall pollution per mile, if you didn't recycle the batteries (hard in 1995) could be similar to driving a car.

Petzl Pixa 3 (or the modern equivalent) , only issue is batteries.

got one of these for running in the dark, very good but not a beam of light, more a spread of light. great for close up (like 5ft) but after that it isn't bright enough.
