I have an old Cannondale mtb frame and forks with an old style quil headset size of 1.25 inch. I want to restore this lovely old machine, but it needs a new headset. These are virtually non existant these days. Found an aheadset Chris King one on Ebay, but no good with my forks, as of course the steerer isn't long enough for clamping the stem onto, and forks with a 1.25 inch steerer just don't exist these days.
So I was wondering if anyone knows if I can buy shims, to reduce my headset size down from 1.25-1.125 inch, thus anabling me more freedom of choice for headsets/forks etc. Any links would be most appreciated.
