l have the very same crown race seater and headset removal tool :)

Although l find a carpenters quick clamp works well for fitting cups as it has rubber jaws that fit perfectly inside the cups

these are the homemade ones with bits and pieces ;)

teflon and aluminium home made cups "adaptors" done on a mill by an old cousin ( could not do that myself I am afraid  )
ant it is the tricky issue of the tool so that the cup is well centered when pressed in !

need to be reversed for top and bottom - beware if you make one - lever can hit the frame so don't make too long a one

much better than hammer and woodblock I used prior and I do not sweat as much in fear of cracking the headtube ;)

Coach bolt

I made my own out of a large coach bolt, nut and a few washers sockets. Works a treat, put in 10+ headsets. Gonna modify it and weld handles to the nuts to save needing three arms to align and hold spanners! a threaded bar may not last long as the thread may not take much abuse. remember to grease the thread!

I just um use a hammer like RAFbikes it's fitted the last three ok, used a cheap £1 metal hammer to fit the latest one. Lots of gentle taps all round the edge.

my local nut and bolt store does M10 threaded at 300mm bu then it shoots up to metre lengths....
is cutting this stuff a bit of a mission? or will 300mm do the job..??

headtube is generally between 10 and 20 cm so 300mm should do the job ;)
too long is not useful as you need to turn the "blocking bolts" a lot sometimes
