Has anyone ever seen in the flesh (a '89 Saracen Conquest)?

Re:

Nope, can't say I have, even in the shop where I bought my Tufftrax in 1989. Kili, Traverse, Tufftrax and Trekker no worries but not the Conquest.

Re: 89 conquest

This has been raised before and I don't think anyone has ever heard of one - at least not that's still in existence...

Re:

Actually sorry I was thinking of the 87 conquest - same applies! Not sure about the 89 but I don't recall seeing one on here

Yes I have (im fairly new on here), I had a Peugeot Blackrock with LX groupset at the time and my friend had a black Saracen Conquest with XT groupset on it. Always was slightly jealous of it back then. What ever happened to it I have no idea. Never seen one since either. It was located in Aberdeenshire if that makes any difference?

Re:

I picked up what I think is an '87 Saracen Conquest from eBay in April 2010. Pretty close to original spec then, I think, and I have tried to keep it close to that. It is still in regular gentle off and on road use, and I am always on the look-out for M730 XT bits to use if anything needs replacement.
Proof of bike can be attached if there is any interest, and once I work out the appropriate format to use for the upload.

Re:

There would certainly be interest in seeing it, particularly if it's the only example online. I use photobucket as the easiest way to upload photos though others upload direct (you have to resize the images though) . I think you need five posts before you can post photos .

Welcome to the forum! :D

Re:

Any interest, hahahahaha

You do realise this is a place people perv over old bikes. Especially nice and odd one or even common as muck ones to be honest.
Even if there are no or little comments on people showing examples, you can guarantee there will have been plenty just looking and searching the details out on each new bike without chatting.
:-D
