Final part. The wheels. The old ones had some fine hubs, but had some rather " chunky" rims from a dawes.
Thanks to Peachy! For coming up trumps on a 130 xt hub that allowed me to retrieve the one for this build from another wheel....so to get one set, I've actually had to unbuild and build 4 wheels!
Ive gone for some tasteful mavic m261. They actually came on the bike, but with poor hubs so have been in the shed for a good while earmarked to go back on this!
Good news is they are not only a bit more in keeping, but shaved a whopping half a kilo off the rotating weight!
So, i think that might be it. Finished. Might even put it in botm, not that its anything much compaired with some of your guys efforts and machines.
Ive put about 500 miles on her since built and its a fine bike. Not an XC blaster and not a bike to chuck about.......it just dont!
But its a lovely bike for relaxed miles and green lanes. Just need a pint and a pie.....oooh..... theres an idea.
