If it helps at all the other number stamped on the frame is H3A11060 ?

Not really, that confirms it's a far eastern frame. But we knew that from the type of alloy ;)

I'll ask again, does it looks like this?:

If it does prove to be something other than a Zaskar could you not raise a paypal dispute? (assuming that's how you paid) for item significantly not as described

Just to blow all the theories out of the water, I have a 7000 series US built Zaskar, with a curved top tube end cap! (But it does have GT engraved into it-the Avalanche etc does not) It has not been re stickered, finished in Lacquered billet, with the original painted graphics under the lacquer, not stickers. This is a 2002 model, just pre the Moto, I believe they were made simultaneously in both the US and Taiwan, just to confuse issues. Don't harrass where its made! it'll still ride and look great! Incidently US made Rock shox had a 44.6% failure under guarantee return rate, they moved to Taiwan under Sram, now its sub 4%-- A Taiwanese frame may actually be an improvement over the US one!!!!

Sorry this frame was not "made" in the USA. May have been final assembly "built" in the USA but the frame's an import.

The "H" in the serial number stands for Taiwan Hodaka one of the best quality factories in Taiwan and a builder and final assembler for years for GT.

Yes it's a Zaskar...According to the bikepedia link below it's a 2000 model year Zaskar in billet/blue. DBR check to see if the specs match. Tough to tell by your picture. Same bike as the 2000 Belgium/German colored Zaskar just the other color choice they made that year. I've seen a few of these for sale in the states. This is post the original GT Zaskars from Santa Ana/Huntington Beach and during the year and a half or so that the Schwinn ownership group had GT.... but before Pacific took over.

Don't think that is the zaskar he is looking for....not retro, not made in the usa.

I know it isn't the one he's looking for but it sounds like this one is a Zaskar and 7000-series tubing. If he bought a frame like this one it is indeed a Zaskar and 7000-series, but obviously not the one he wants.

My point is perhaps the seller isn't lying but the buyer just didn't know what he was buying...
