GT Zaskar Identification

Downtube decal looks original to me.

XTR parts are later. The STI are M910 I think as are the hubs.

Either a frame upwards build or parts upgraded to XTR in its life as we all did.

It makes no difference as they are the same which it is. If you want to decal it a LE and have it XTR it’s still correct in my view but it didn’t start a LE I’d say.

The frame was available separately as a Zaskar LE so I wouldnt get too tied up in knots over it

The original decals were quite thick but had a tendency to slide off in hot weather!

I put 1994 factory original decals on my 1993 bike as I liked the colour scheme. For a long time original decals could be found on ebay but they are ;long gone now.

These have been on some 15 years now and are battered!

Do you have a link to the 92 Catalogue you refer to?

As the only 92 one I’ve seen is the one on here and I’d be interested to see another as it doesn’t show a LE

It's a tiny 14.5" frame.. where the smaller frames this shape?

Wasn’t there a name for them something like GT Biodynamica frame?

Does that marking not suggest 12.5” frame which was the very smallest they did in 1996 from the Tech shop range and in the kids Zaskar range. The ones in this photo from my catalogue look like flat end caps though.

So the small funny looking one is a Zaskar, this similar discussion took place on here years ago

Generally the Zaskar had a flat end cap but the 91 Avalanche in 7075 also had a flat end cap

The 12.5 pictured I suspect is a 26”
Where the kids ones were 24 or 20” wheels
