Hi there,

I have replaced all the pivot points in a 1997 LTS with BETD kit and from what i can see this is the correct set you need, When I made the change I was so happy as the whole ride of the frame changed & I found it more responsive and was acctually able to tune the rear end perfectly.

Do it , you wont regret it!

Hey, no problem, I personally got someone to fit mine to make sure it was done properly but there is an area on their site which has instructions in colour as to how to fot the various parts.

any other questions give me a shout and I will see what I can do to help out

Dean

hey thanks, thats very good of you. ive had a look on their site and seen the PDF download so i will give it a go meself shouldn't be tooooooo difficult ;)

very nice mate, liking the silver LTS looks like a brand new bike!

im trying to keep mine quite retro looking.
i have the old super deluxe to go on after a service, do you nkow anyone that i could send it off too or any members that know how to??
also just fitted an old xtr rear mech, got an old front mech to go on too. Im thinking of ditching the juicy 3's and puting some hs33's in raceline yellow on too.

The way to go is what I did with the Acid orange LTS, Rock Shox Discs, you can get an adaptor that fits the rear from BETD , the cool thing is they came as stock on the front of the LTS1000DS .
so it would be period correct to run discs on it.

The orange one I own is almost completely original except for addinf a rear rock shox disc and buliding a white insustries disc hub to match the front.

I regards to servicing the rear shock , not sure TFT tuned might be the first place to look , or buy a new one off ebay( I have 3 stored away for a rainy day)as they appear quite regularly & are cheaper than having them serviced I would have thought.

The silver LTS was finished just over a year ago, I got it from San Francisco ans a NOS frameset that had never been built, and then decided to build it up as a project with 2007 components to see how much better it would ride than the stock orange one I own.

With the 140mm fork it rides so much better than the 100m trave judy XL's which always seememd under speced for the frame.

I use the silver LTS day in day out to comute on and it is the bst bike I have ever owned.

Forever getting stopped by people and asked question about it.

WOW i got my replacement kit super quick from betd. took 5mins to do and there is NO side to side movement from my rear end at all

was going to try a front mech and chainset on today but the front mech i had couldnt sit down far enough on the seat tube without fouling the lower pivot
i guess they werent really made to take a full chainset on!?!

dont suppose you fancy getting rid of one of your super deluxes do you please ;) ;)

cheers,
dave.

Hi chap, just been looking on Ebay, found this for sale , brand new super deluxe shock

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Rock-Shox-Sup ... dZViewItem

To be honest I really dont wnat to part with any of my spares as I am sure something will break and I want to keep both mine running as I use then on a daily basis.

In regards to the front mech, i had this trouble, with a 2007 XTmech , it had a plastic colar to make up the difference between the stalk and the clamp diameter & all i did was remove the front part of the spacer and juust sit it on the metal insert. I also filed down a protruding bit of weld to alow it to mount lower on the stalk.

They were designed to take a full triple chainst as my first LTS100DS came with one.
