I have had a ‘98 1000ds from new. Still fantastic, rideable bikes today - capable enough to handle nearly anything, unlike most of the steel hardtails we collectively worship here!

I agree with you. I also tried a lot of old bikes myself and I have to say that this one really stands out in terms of agility. And I'm surprised that even during pedaling the rear part doesn't move too much as I expected for an old full suspension bike!
