Zaskar X is one of the last year USA produced frames. So Top but designed for different riding style. The Zaskar model that year was actually made in Taiwan. X and Zaskar Team were USA made. X was a tad different geometry with more fork travel...targeted at a younger freeride/all mountain market not really a true XC design

So do you come across many Zaskar X frames/ bikes in your travels? Any idea of their value, I haven’t seen one for sale second hand. They are one of the few aluminium HT frames I would like to own.

what is the difference between the 7000 and 7005 aluminium frames?

My 96 avalanche has 7000 (although the 96 catalogue on here says it should be 7005)

could be wrong, but this isn't a 7000 aluminium, theres 7000 series of which 7005 is one (unless its 7000SC which is super unlikely)

Well it definitly says 7000 on the sticker.

My mate's Backwoods from a similar year has a 7005 frame. The two frames look and weigh about the same

A lot of them utilized the same frames - just renamed a different model with a different paint finish and groupset obviously. I know my '95 Tequesta's full chromoly frame is identical to the ones a peg above it - the Borrego, Karakoram and Richochet.

The Timberline's, Talera's and Outpost's had chromoly main tubes with hi-tensile rear; from the same mid-late 90's era at least.

the GT Talera - to be celebrated for its non GT nessness (and rare NOS 200GS....)
