GT frames sizing.

I’ve picked up a GT today and it’s 18”centre bb to centre top tube. Is that an 18” in GT sizing and how does that relate to other brands? Still 18” or bigger?

That's pretty normal. GT's can come up a bit big as the top of the seat tube is about 2" above the centre of the top tube.

Centre to centre or centre to top is the usual way of measuring frame size, but it will be down to where the top tube is and also height of head tube for stand over clearance.

Most other brands measure to the top of the seat tube so it will be bigger than others 18" frames.

Thanks. It only has a fork crown in at the minute so I’ll bung some forks in and see how it sizes up. It definitely looks bigger than what I already own but I tend to have a small frame with seat fairly high up.

GT 18 inch frames measure 20 centre to top

You’d need to be 5.10-6.0 for a 18 ideally.

GT do it correctly. Everyone else is wrong. Just my opinion of course.
