GT Backwoods - Help With Year Please

Hi,

This has popped up on eBay Australia. The seller says 2000, but the colour doesn't seem to match against BikePedia's specs. Any help in ID'ing the year would be appreciated.

the forks (if original) look like Manitou Spiders - they may help you narrow down a year - IIRC a few years earlier than 2000 (though it may have been purchased in 2000)... I'm thinking '98 or '99 - probably '99 as I think the '98 models were all specced with Rock Shox forks, but then the decals do look like '98... ermmm not sure these ramblings help. There are others on here much more knowledgeable in the ways of GTs than me so I'm positive a definitive answer should be forthcoming soon!... c'mon guys!

definitely post 96. dont recall gt ever fitting manitous. spyders were 98-99 though

i agree with the above, 98 possibly but most likely 99.

I've got a 2000 tempest and the paint jobs are totally different.
