So I have this bike which a guy who serviced recently said is an original handmade collectable bike from the California factory. TBH I have no idea about it so would appreciate any advice on its year and value.

Late 1990s I'd say, perhaps 99. Unfortunately, I think the guy who serviced it has misled you a little: hybrids are not usually either collectible or especially valuable. In this case, I think you're looking at a sales value of about £75, provided the seatpost isn't stuck. If I were you, I'd get it some decent tyres and enjoy riding it.

Thanks for your help. Sadly my husband is too old to ride now. But will sell it on.
