Graphics Shack - Retro MTB decals

Ordered some from Graphicshack via eBay.

It was about 10 days ago and they have been marked as despatched this afternoon so seems that some action is happening.

Can I be critical…should I be critical…

Is it me is that the only style Kona decals that exist, ebay just seems to be full of “generic” Kona decals, I try and keep mine period correct at least, I have from 1989-2000 on file and I’m happy to do custom colours or laminate and decal if people so require

As for the Orange ones, why not print onto polyester, it’s way thinner and idea for a clear coat and why, Oh why not use a spot orange vinyl so you get a nice bright Orange colour to the decals that are not on a white base…

Maybe I should keep my mouth shut as I am not looking for a monopoly, but good results should be expected

Sorry if this upsets anybody but take it as an observation rather that me bitching about somebody else’s work

To be honest i dont know how he does it all really, both garry and his wife work 7 days a week, every week...just to keep up with the full order book.

I cant blame them needing to take a couple of weeks out, working 7 days a week...

Both are great shops/people to deal with.

I ordered new decals for my 1988 Rossin from GraphicsShack, and they were truely spot on, colour and everything. That said, Gil has also been top notch both times I have used his services.

Gil, i dont think you can upset anyone, your work speaks volumes, i had had what 3 or 4 sets from you just recently.....all totally superb....!!!

The examples of sum of my own bikes posted, was merely to show how i asked garry to do something for me. I didnt want to clear coat my kona, as it is a bike i abuse basically, a quick powder coat, and sum decals in the colours of my choice using laminated decals, as with abuse/ british weather conditions etc.... all decals inevitably loose there print over time with out a laminate or lacquer on them. He also did the fox forks decals from scratch for me.

The orange i specifically wanted with lots and lots of lacquer on to help stop the sun and weather fading the neon paint and stone chips, as happened with the original neon colours. Rightly or wrongly this was at my request.

Last year, at the time i set about re-fnishing my Tbg konas, I tried everyone including yourself, for replacement decals, and i came up empty handed, no one could help me as no one had them on file. In the end, i did them myself, and im pretty crap with stuff like this... :?

so i am very gratefull you guys are out there, its not easy work, especially when you have to start from scratch........, you guys need a medal.

And im looking forward to recieving my decal sets from you next week, as i say your work speaks for itself....!!!!

Just to throw another iron in the fire!

There's another guy in Australia who advertises on eBay whose work is also very good - I had a Reynolds 853 decal from him and it's indistinguishable from the original (perhaps the polyester as Gil suggests?).

These guys are pretty good too;

But considering the amount of work that goes into theses decals, whoever you use, I think a short wait whilst your order is fulfilled is more than reasonable...

Or alternatively order an original 853 decal direct from Reynolds. They are cheaper than that Aussie fellow on eBay and you can pay via paypal. Mine cane in a couple of days. All you have to do is give them the make and model and frame number of your frame and they'll send you one. And they sent me the extra Reynolds decals to go on the top tube or seatstays FOC!!

Wish i could get A black Tange Prestige decal so easily, i keep asking but it seems no one can help.....
