Re: JMC Specialized S-Works FSR Team race bike 1994/95

I'd be in for a ticket or two but can't afford the entire bike!

Tomacs race bike sold for 5600 dollars, thats 3300 GBP's ... just saying like.

Re: JMC Specialized S-Works FSR Team race bike 1994/95

Wish I could buy it too, sadly I bought an S-works frame just like this back in 1995 and built it up with the parts I had. Unfortuanely it got stolen from me in Spokane WA at my buddies house before I even got to take it out for a ride on Beacon hill!!! I stopped at my friends house and set the bike next to his front door and was not more then 7 feet away (with his front door closed) talking with my buddy and someone stole it...was a sad day! Of all the bikes I've owned I WISH I could get this one back, it's lines are classic and steel! All my buddies and many of the local bike shops kept an eye out for it for a long time, but it never showed up........so sad.

For what its worth I think Jase had far more influence than Tomac for riders in the UK. He just seemed to be so cool on and off the bike! I have heard it time and time again from Pro riders to the guy on the street that Jase was their idol. Also, IMO, that Tomac bike was not something that I aspired to own, nor did i try to make my bike look like it, where as I REALLY wanted to own the same bikes as JMC and tried to make my bike resemble his with silly little touches like yellow and green grips, azonic bar, control tech stem etc etc.....just saying like.

Nah, not in the same league IMO. Having said that Tomac bike wasn't exactly a looker was it, unlike his earlier bikes.

Re:

Unfortunately JMC never had the chance to fulfill his potential........ I was not comparing the skills of each rider, simply stating that JMC had a MUCH greater influence on the UK mountain biking scene than Tomac ever did - for more reasons than I care to go into.

Re: JMC Specialized S-Works FSR Team race bike 1994/95

Yeah, perhaps to some, doesn't really matter either way for this. Anyway, ignoring the rider, I think this is a much nicer bike than the Raleigh which didn't do anything for me other than who rode it.

Re:

I think your wrong-ish, it depends how you swing (or when you rode)

I'd never heard of JMC till a few years back (by that I men remember to had no great influence on me).

Tomac, Herbold, Mint and the Raleigh team on the other hand. I still don't aspire to want to be them or have their bikes, but that's me. They're just people earning living at a sport. Nothing special about them.

Re:

This bike deserves some DECENT pictures before you sell it I reckon. I'm sure everyone would love to see it in readers bikes, BOTM even!! :p
