Gios frameset ID

I can pick it up at a good price. Seller says that it's a Gios but it looks suspect to me. I can't find any Gios frame that looks 100% exactly like this one. Any ideas?

appears Belgian, and fairly low end Belgian

Flandria for example cranked out sleds such as this by the jillions

if shell 70mm in width and BSC threaded that would be a confirmation of a Flandria origin

tubeset likely to be something from Ateliers De La Rive such as Durifort or VITUS 172

check saddle pillar diameter, it will be less than the 27.0 or 27.2 of a first quality Italian frame of this era

lug pattern is BOCAMA Professional, something never employed by GIOS

fork crown is welded rather than forged, something GIOS would never employ

seat stay treatment is one GIOS never did

someone has created a "GIOS" bicycle for the price of a transfer set

sprint...in the opposite direction

Yes, definitely not gios. Thanks for deep analysis.

It does indeed look to be a Flandria. Not their cheapest model, as the chrome looks to be real (as opposed to silver paint) and the dropouts look to be forged items with adjusters. It could also be one of the early Jan Janssen bikes which were built by Flandria.

If it were my size and less than a tenner, I'd be temped. With a set of replacement Flandria decals it'd be a nice frame to hang those first generation Shimano 600/60 parts on. :)

It's about 80$, if it was in better shape i could take it but at this price it's a pass i guess

you mention a price in dollars

if you are in the U.S. you might like to know that the GIOS agent for the country is/was the FAMA Sales Co. of New York City

their main business is espresso machines and the GIOS agency is something of a sideline

spot of information on the GIOS marque and its history here -

https://classicrendezvous.com/country-of-origin/italy/gios/

no more Italian ones are being produced

marque alive in name but cycles issue from the orient

I'm in Poland but thanks anyway :)
I just prefer to use $ instead of € due to background in trading.
