I haven't done much with this for a few weeks, but the Giant thread below gave me nudge! I have a better 9 speed cassette to go on as the middle 3 on this one all slip really badly. A red Rabid headset is in the post from ebay to add a little more colour/sort out the notchy steering. The 105mm stem is getting swapped for an 80mm to see how that feels too.
I may try a 1x9 on this, but still undecided. I am getting a bit of chainsuck on the 32 and need to change it so a NW may be worth a go.
I still think it might look better with shorter forks but haven't seen anything that grabs me in the right colour at the right (for which read low) price. The Marzocchis are nice though, and plush!

Swapped to a nicer 2 bolt seat post, some wider and lower rise bars both Brand X, so nothing special but nice enough. Also changed the Syncros 70mm 7 degree rise stem for a Gravity Lite 90mm 6 degree rise.
Front brake hose needs a trim still, but have been contemplating some higher qulaity brakes, but probably not going to bother with that.

A bit of a refresh....
Deore M617 Cranks with 36/24 rings and a Deore M618 doulble FD. And SPDs.
A black RD would look nice but the options in the box are Deore m510 or a slighlty suspect Deore M6000 (which means finding a 10 speed casste and shifters too) so the XT one will probably stay for now.

34t NW chainring (£0.99 buy of ebay!) and 11-36 Deore cassette, Deore m615 shifter. RD will be a Deore XT m786 SG when I have tidied it up a bit.
I have also swapped the bars to 720mm flats and brakes are now Deore m615.

I’ve got an NRS Composite and struggled to find much information about the NRS range (shock pressures etc.). Great bikes though.

This is for 2004my, the only one I could find. It is for the Mk1 NRS, mine is a Mk2 but I think the pinciple was the same!

Looking good!
The 1x looks cleaner, you may find the 11-36 cassette to restrictive depending on the riding you do. Sunrace do some wider range cassettes in 10 speed.
How do you find the flat bars after having risers on? I tried flat bars after years of risers and hated them.
