General Election

The surprise will be Labour holding it together. You have almost none who want a Corbyn PM. They want their jobs. But they don't think he will deliver them. The search will be on now for both a candidate and a way to replace him. One thing in public, quite another behind the scenes.

The sooner he's consigned to the 1970s where he belongs the better. Thanks for the memories Jez, it was fun while it lasted.

That is the ironic thing, the Labour Party are not prepared for what they want. They expected a lot longer for Corbyn to decay naturally, allowing the facade of some democratic progression to the next leader. Now he will be unceremoniously sacked or pushed into a forced resignation, which may force many of the new members to reconsider.

What the Tories should remember, is that anyone succeeding Corbyn is likely to be more of a challenge come the next general election. If you believe the hype.

My guess is he will do better than predicted over the next half dozen months, and removing him will be no simple matter.

No one talking policies as usual. How dull.
He wants to tax us more.

Ahahaha, who's this us?
Everyone, one way or another. He'll have to if he's going to spend what he wants. He says £70k which isn't exactly a fortune, but inevitably he'll be pumping anyone on higher rate before the year's out. He'll not be, obviously, because those 'rich' folk on £50k ain't gonna vote for him.

I see today's garbage was £10 minimum wage. Something like 1 in 50 get paid NMW. I know he's not very bright, but he surely knows those numbers don't work at election time?

But it's all good, all being well the Tories will increase their majority, Labour will end the experiment and the SNP will have their arse handed back to them once a credible leader is in place. What's not to like?

Re:

I wouldn't be so quick to judge others by your own standards...just because you earn £50k plus doesn't mean you don't believe in an equal and just society.
As you have always said, some people will always be richer than others, but it doesn't follow that they will all vote Conservative for their own self-serving greedy interest.

He wants to control high pay.
.

All gets my vote and my wife. :D :D :D I'd say not before time. Bring back super tax of 90% as back in 1970's if those of the country don't like it then leave.

And yet they do, as can be demonstrated with a quick look at any constituency map.

Nice places with big houses and high wages - blue.
Inner cities and northern dumps - red.
Scotland - yellow.

A bit broad, and Scotland has lost the plot, but by and large turkeys don't vote for Xmas. No matter how well intentioned they might be. I'd dispute it's all about self interest though. And there are plenty of working class Tories about skewing it as well, however unpalatable and oxymoronic that idea might be to some.

Re:

If we are going to start paying people £10 minimum they better bloody well work for it. One of our staff gets £8.50 and complains she isn't going to work hard for such little money. If she wasn't decent eye candy we would get rid of her. She's almost turned the wife.

Re:

Northern dumps? How lovely!

Know how to make friends, don't you!

Won't be long before the expletives come to the fore for you, I imagine
