Recently had to replace the rear wheel [which someone stole!
] on my 90 Bear Valley.
Had a pair of spare wheels from another bike but had to replace the 9 speed cassette with a new Shimano 7 speed [with spacer], it all went on ok as did the new SRAM speed chain.
The problem is that although it all seems to mesh and shift ok the chain will jump on the two outer rings on the crank when a decent amount of force is applied! seems ok on the smaller one.
I took a close look at the tooth shape but cannot see a problem, have i got worn rings or is it the chain thats not compatable with the Exage 400 LX "Biopace" rings?
Never had this problem with the old wheel and chain so it has made me think it could be the chain, if it is worn rings are replacements available?
