I’ve just put the brakes, brake levers, shifters and grips on. It’s beginning to take shape…

Got a nice waxy bloom on the tyres which I plan to treat with a hot air gun.

I’m after a set of black Araya RM-17’s. The ones with the pink and yellow decals - can’t think why!

Rims are on their way and I picked up the skewer end caps and levers today - freshly anodised, powder coated.

I think I need to make some washers for the QR as others seem to have them.

The washer are finished and the rims (finally) arrived in the post today. They were shipped weeks ago but customs is shite after Brexit…

Should have the wheels finished in a couple of weeks and it’ll be on to the brakes.

Still need a seatpost, two chainrings and some pedals.

The local bike shop wants £147 to build the wheels. I politely declined…. and said in the heat of the moment that I’d do it myself.

I’m pretty sure what spoke lengths I need for the front but have any of you got a drawings of a Bullseye rear hub? I could do with something definitive to compare against my measurements.

...however, 150 Euros is a normal price for building a set. If you give them hubs and rims and they will get you the right spokes and do all the work for you.
