full sus recommendations please (lightweight for xc use)

Re:

Jaysus, that's nice! May be old(ish) but to be honest you'd struggle to build anything with that level of kit for any less..
Nice brakes, and VERY nice wheels.. I've been looking for a set of these on & off for ages.. Hope they run true-apparently the only drawback is they're a PITA if things go wrong.

Really nice light frame tho, and still a fair amount of weight-saving in there at a small cost if you need it! ;)

yup :) i have something on ebay listed for local pickup only, someone said he'd pay asking price if i shipped. i've told him i'll drop a tenner if he books the courier, and he hasn't come back to me (yet). that's alls holding me back.

What about a kona stinky or gt lts? 252200149820. That's a item number for a marin that recently sold on eBay. Was a bargain if you ask me and maybe what you're looking for?
What's your approximate location? That may help for if people see something on gumtree, eBay. Etc.
Just my 2 penneth. Probably of no help but it's the thought that counts, or so they say haha

Telecaster i sold just shipped gotta wait for paypal funds to unlock.

however. there's a freehub issue on the epic's wheels, and after seeking advice from a local bike tech + some googling i'm going to pass. if its the freehub its 100 quid for the part alone, if you can find one.

the other option is to out a new hub on, an xt one is 60/70 plus a wheel rebuild.

too much hassle.. so looking again.

Thanks, that is popping up in my ebay followed searches. Unfortunately Its a very long way away from Somerset :(

Current status is. guy selling is stripping and looking at it today and going to let me know. if he says its OK, and i verify that on a test ride i'm going try to knock him down a bit, and prioritise getting myself a more easily serviceable second/backup wheelset (have my eye on one) so if this does break and i get it rehubbed or whatever i can still ride

Good thing is.. i've raised a good amount of cash selling stuff and still have one bike left to sell.

Re:

Are you looking to pay near £550? If so I think that's too much to be honest. It's well used and old. I'd prefer to drop that sort of money on a lower spec but newer bike as there's plenty about.

I've got a very tidy specialised fsr extreme I'm looking to part with. XT 8 speed gearing, avid v brakes, sid forks and I'm not looking for a huge amount for it. All it needs is wheels and it's up and running. I think it's a 99 or 2000 model and has had a very easy life. Sadly too small for me as I bought it as I loved the colour (kermit green).

If you wanted to push the boat out I've a litespeed obed fs (think amp b3 with a titanium front end).

no i'm looking to pay lower

it is an issue i've been thinking over. depending on the outcome of his investigation i'll have a really good look before pulling the trigger.
