Lordy, my 91 Stumpjumper was a terrible bike - was so happy when I replaced it with a Norco Sasquatch.I always find 90s Marins are dull to ride. I’d go for a steel Stumpy personally.

Just buy one of the Eldridge Grades while it's still available if it looks like a good fit. As @bikeworkshop said, the condition and fit will make more difference than the brand. 1990s' Marins are popular on here for good reason. You'll almost certainly find it a good ride, but if you haven't been riding for a while, it will take your body a while to adjust to the geometry. If so, riding it a little but often is the way forward. Thanks for your help found a couple of Marin Eldridge Grade from the 90’s that look in very good condition and have Tange steel frames but as I’ve no idea how they ride I’m asking around. Like the look of 90’s Stump jumpers but only one or two online that look any good and they’re 18’’ frames whereas I think I’m suited to 16/17’’ at 5’8…..
Hi, not sure if you'd be interested in a 1990s Ridgeback mtb but I'm selling mine. .....I'm looking for a 90's mountain bike for city riding and light gravel trails. Hoping top find a fully rigid bike as i don't need suspension for my riding. Online I've found a few full rigid 90's Marin Pine Mountains and Marin Eldrgidge Grades and a few full rigid 90's Stumpjumpers that look nice and have Tange cromo frames and these are mostly under £300 which is unfortunately my budget (approximately). Which do people prefer out of these two and which other models/brands should i look out for in that price range?
Thanks for any advice!
