Remember that here in the USA gas is cheaper than in the UK. Today the cost of regular in my town is $2.97 per gallon.

Just been doing some checking up
I filled up the C-Max a couple of days ago at £1.17/litre (ie; £5.31/gallon)
This equals US $1.46
The cost of a UK gallon, in dollars = $6.63
And, I bet you complain about the cost of yours!!!
Going the other way;
If we paid the same prices, we'd be paying £2.02 a gallon!
I have a 1995 straight six four litre supercharged jaguar xjr 
and I can get 10.8 per gallon round the town :shock: :shock: :shock: but on a run with my power chip turned down I can get 23.2 (with it turned to max only 16.9) I love global warming as clarkson once said "If everyone had one of these we might get a good summer......POWERRRR "

My mate has one of those on an R plate. He just had to get the head gaskets done! :x :x But it is swift. I prefer to have a similar level of power but still get 50 to the gallon on normal driving
Still, gotta love that supercharger whine!The trouble nowadays is that too many people have been brainwashed by the state into beleiving the "global warming influenced by man" rubbish.We all know that when the ice age ended man was not influencing that and we all know that when we are qouted "this has been the hottest/wettest/windiest/driest month since 1772"That the industrial revolution had barely got into it's stride so what caused that hot day (not man driving a big car I dare say )All of the global warming rubbish is just a stealth tax :twisted: :twisted: Period.
I was listening to a very well respected scientist on radio 4 talking about climate change a few weeks ago and he said "there is more carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere in a twelve hour period of sunshine on the atlantic ocean from plankton than china could release in 25 years" :!: :!:
He was taken off the air immediately :roll: :twisted: Hows that for state censorship :?: and I thought that freedom of speech was still king in ehgland :roll: :roll: So the long and the short is,if people continue to drive big cars (which incidentally cause the same polution to make as a small car and will generally outlast a small car by double) nothing will change
(and also if you drive a big car to your small car dealer he will give you a £2000 reduction on a car that was probably made in a third world country that suffers from horrendous polution problems caused by the west that we never hear about or see)And driving a large engined car everyday for fifty years still will not do as much environmental damage as making one small car in an industrial car plant :!: :!: So just incase any ecomentalists ar listening in these are my reasons for driving fast and shouting POWERRRR

'YAS' (Yorkshire Ambulance Service) have several Octavia 'Scouts' as Rapid Response Cars.
I see them everyday at the Hospital I work at.
All of the Paramedics are generally happy with them

I love that whine too, but would perfer it to sound a bit more 'uncouth', so the V8 can be heard
(but then again, it is a Jaguar, so has to be refined...'old chap!'
