Here's some cracking project frames to keep oneself occupied during the winter months. I was toying with building up one or both to keep me occupied (and maybe use one as a winter bike) but I then scored something too good to miss that fits the bill...so they're both up for sale.

First up is a '93 Dawes Edge, lovely brazed and pretty dang light Reynolds 653 with the original 531 straight bladed forks. Measurements are 18" C/T , 16"C/C, 21.75" TT. Frame is in reasonably good shape paint wise bar a scuff from transportation on the left hand fork leg, there's a very slight bit of rust veining on the top tube as well but nothing worrying to be honest - this is dent free and totally solid! No chainsuck either, there was a chainstay protector fitted from new. There is a member on here who owned one of these and managed to find accurate touch up paint so hopefully these areas can be primed and repainted if needs be, or used as is. Also included is a good XT headset and UN51 bottom bracket (122.5mm), both have been taken out of the frame, cleaned up and regreased.SOLD

Next is a '89 specialized Stumpjumper Comp with tange d/b tubes and original direct drive forks. This is 20.5" C/T, 19.5" C/C, 22.5" TT. The original white/gold pearl paint is visible but this is in dire need of a strip and repaint with lots of surface rust and scratches. I've gently scraped away any suspect bits with a screwdriver and there is nothing sinister bar some minor damage on one of the seatstay breather holes and on the seatpost clamp where the Q/R has been over tightened over 20 odd years of use. With this I'll also throw in a NOS 3TTT stem (135mm) and a couple of sets of bars, the original - but scruffy - specialized ones at 560mm and some tioga ones in better shape but cut down to 490mm (more for reference really). Also included are the original chrome specialized branded headset and QR and bottle cage. Once stripped and repainted this will be an awesome ride, I was thinking that this would look the nuts in red with a silver MT60 groupset and even dropbars but the choice is yours..

Price wise I was thinking £75.00 for the Dawes and £35.00 for the Specialized, with UK postage included. Pickup from Central London is also no problem - you can knock a tenner off the prices if this is doable. Pictures below :)

Love the Dawes! I shall do some measurement comparisons tomorrow, but in the meantime, does it have upper rear rack monts (I rather assume so given double eyelets at the dropout)?

Glad you're feeling it, handsome frame it is :)

There are no actual rack mounts on the seatstays themselves but there is a brace under the rear canti hanger (just visible in one picture) that is drilled for mounting one if it helps..
