Front mech requires too much force, please help!

It’s 2x11, changed the front cable, now cant get the derailleur to come off the ‘tipping point’ for lack of a better phrase (or knowledge!) so you’re having to really push the shifter and I can see quite a bit of flex in the braze on bracket! nothing else has changed, I’ve checked the limits so it’s as far in the direction it needs to go as it can, the cable comes from a designated hole so it’s origin isn’t in question, I’ve got the cable clamped correctly on the mech (it directs you with an arrow) - I’ve run out of brain cells! Please help! Let me know you need more info, Thanks 👍

If anything, it’s actually pulling the mech in then opposite direction than it needs to go!

Not familiar with those gears to modern for me but I'd say you got the cable wrong side of bolt! It's outboard! Should in my mind be inboard

In that pic does the cable go around the bolt clockwise or anticlockwise? It will make a big difference!
So up and around the bolt and not from below around the bolt! Suttle .... but I reckon it could make all the difference 👍

It’s supposed to follow the straw but I’ve now got it up and over as per you suggestion, it does now work but I’m struggling to stop chain rub at either end of the ratio!

Okey dokey! Still flexing the derailleur mount and still feels like your mashing the lever or is that now ok?
As for chain rub at either end of ratio...
Can you clarify ? Do you mean big front chainring and big rear cog and little front little rear ?

No longer flexing the mount, shifts with much less force; feels right, in lowest gear it’s rubing on front mech closet to frame (on plastic pad) / highest gear it’s rubing front mech on the other side (against the metal) - I’m not sure if I’ve got the shifter set up correctly, I’m using the 2nd & 3rd clicks to the right on the main (big) lever and ignoring (not dropping down into the 1st smaller micro shift on the far left when going into the lowest gear (hope this makes sense!)
