If you are looking for a cheap adjustable stand and old turbo is good but they are heavy so, if ebay etc, collection is probably best. This is mine - and it can be adjusted to fit any bike -



and with the 'turbo' bit removed and a bike on it -



The 'Gazelle' is a childs bike.

I would expect to pay around £22 for an old turbo - provided the turbo bit is broken.

You may not need one - your WorkMate solution looks workable. The only problem would be if you need the WorkMAte for something else!
