Friday night is nightride night!

Re:

Personally I think the doubles should be bigger, you carry a lot of speed on that final straight. Last time I was there I was landing to flat.

Maybe, but this thread refers to nightrides, going so fast you get seriously airborne in the dark in unfamiliar territory could be.............interesting ?

Re:

remember doing CV with Mikee and a coupla others maybe 3-4 years ago?

its not bad at night but like Velo says you do need to take it easy on the runway.

always though it was a wee bit short so not bad for a nightride but you had to do a couple circuits to make it worthwhile for a day run.

think you're right Keith, I did it wi the boys fae work two or three times as a night ride last year.

there's nought wrong with it, but it's a climb up the fire road (or track) to come down in three sections, the last of which is the most.... undulating - not that my wheels left the ground much :|

you'll be needing to do it 2 probably 3 times to get your times worth

it is fun but short, you'd be disappointed if you rocked over there to spend the day or even the afternoon

Re:

velo, I took your reference to me fallin aff as piss-taking not as you call it a jibe, so I responded in similar fashion.
As you say I fall off, so what? I'm nae different from the rest of the MacRetro guys I ride with, we all take a tumble nearly every ride. It disnae hurt, much. Most of the time it's mair  than anything else. There's eff all point of going so slow that I don't fall aff and hurt masel, cannae be arsed wi that.

Can I take it that I have my own RetroBike stalker since you seem to pay close attention to my riding when out on same rides?

Nah, I'm just observant, I spot other folk crashing aswell. In fact its not a proper day out on the bikes if Mr Crashy himself, ZZ, does not have an altercation with the deck. I myself am not trying hard enough if I dont at least nearly loose the front end on something, front end handling issues always seem to be my weakness. Properly break a bone like I've done though and it does put a post-it in your mind to maybe be more canny in future.

Re:

I wouldn't bother wasting my time going to CV. It takes me the best part of an hour to get there and I can go around it in 45 min.
And the trails are pretty rubbish. Ok for taking a complete novice or a kid to give them a wee taste of mountain biking but not worth the bother for the hardcore retrobiker !

noting interest, will see how things pan out

come to think about it, not ridden a fat tyre since Oct
