Frenchie dealing with non-metric screws on an old Claud Butl

You can normally buy (in the UK) tap sets for a few pounds in pound shops and smallish DIY places. That should clean it out enough.

I used a greased screw and a tougher allen key. A little bit a torque and the thread is back to its "normal" state :)

Sorry for bothering, but I would not have put the necessary torque if you hadn't told me the thread was surely standard.

Claud Butlers are part of the Falcon Group, I'm glad to see they standardised their fasteners. I had a Townsend in the past also a Falcon Group company, its fasteners were a mix of metric and imperial, that was a real pain :roll:
