Freddie Grubb frame colour needed

Old School Hero
Hello,

Any Freddie Grubb experts answer a query

I have acquired what I believe is an early 1970's Galibier model (I had one second hand in the late 70's). My first one was Orange with purple bands, although officially the orange was known as Arizona Gold.

The frame I have picked up now has been painted with British racing green smooth Hammerite.

Has anyone any idea what the RAL colour equivalent would be, or at least if there is a car colour that is close?

Re:

Sorry, I didn't explain myself did I?

I was after the Arizona Hod colour reference

Thanks anyway

I know, I was being pedantic, slow day here :D

No idea about the orange, other than the color of orange was named after not before the fruit :D

BITD manufacturers usually had their own colours, I'd have a wander in the paint section of Halfords and pick a nice colour :)

Re:

I've never had one repainted but from what I've seen RAL1028 would be close to Arizona Gold. Even the originals will vary from one bike to another so you will have some tolerance to work with.

Thanks guys, very helpful

Not going to be an Eroica type full on restoration, but I wanted to get it pretty close!

Thanks again
