Frame painting

I want to try out a professional finish on my Marin - a bit more durable than my spray can efforts in the past. My LBS has given me a quote of £150 from a Bristol firm it deals with but I was hoping to get it done for a bit less than this. Does anyone have any experience of a good place to get the frame painted around the Cardiff or valleys area. I am not looking for a metallic finish, but would like two colour so am happy for either a spray paint or powder coating.

Thanks.

Bristol place is likely Argos, check it out on Google.

Powder is pretty robust, but two colour is bit more specialist. Not sure if your local industrial powdercoater will have much experience of this.
Single colour is no prob, and unless too funky should be around £35 frame.

If you strip and prepare it yourself, perhaps a local car bodyshop may pop it into a corner of a spray-booth when they're doing a car.

With luck, may only cost you a drinkie! :P

I'd advise against a car spray shop.

1 They are used to painting big flat things, not little pipey things.
2 Often the spray heads are too large to get into all the nooks and crannies of a frame (e.g. around the bottom bracket).
3 Also, car paint chips and flakes too readily.
4 Even road bike paint is a stove enamel and rather more durable - and people still bitch on about it chipping too readily.
