Formula One!

Funny, someone the other day was advocating bidding a bike to the skies without decent pictures or inspecting it first...

This one could go pear-shaped too with a few major bid-retractors already pushing it skywards.

There's plenty of members down Portsmouth way and a whole weekend before the auction ends but these "event" auctions never play out smoothly

They never come up, and i soooo wish it was the later model..

Time for a bit of education - what are the different models?

Did one type have a Roberts built steel back end?

Which on eis this one?

I asked the seller for some decent pics too - if he mails them then I'll post them up on here.

Adrian, i posted a fair bit of info and pics in the British Steel thread. I think i posted some prototype pics from the Roberts Frame shop laid on a New Dogs Bolox frame to show the rear end, on the thread too.

Hope thats of sum help.
The rear end of the later model wasnt an elevated design and also used the Dogs Bolox Rear wishbone Configuration. (see pic two)

Call me Mr Cautious but not a lot of feedback/recent activity on ebay account for someone selling a high end MTB for lots of money.

The description alone suggests they havnt had it for more than five minutes, and they freely admit the info they do have was taken from the internet.

It worrys me, the rear end could be floppy and worn out, the frame could be cracked, given the write up on ebay, im confident they perhaps wouldnt see it if it was staring them in the face.

I think the ad said, it also didnt have suspension either....

To my mind given most of the spec needs to be removed and replaced anyway, this could be a very expensive project regardless of whether or not the frame is in good order.

To be fair, Uno-Speedo is the man, he is knee high in formula, and i suspect he has also collected a lot of info ref formula along his journey too.

this frame would really suit the original fork IMHO.

I always loved these. Didn't they do an FS conversion too?

They did, by the time the season had ended, Deb Murrell decided to concentrate her efforts on XC and hang up her shoes on the Downhill.
