Forks options for early 90's S-Works M2

OK, so it's been a loooong time since I've been in here.

Looking to get my 93/94 S-works M2 on the trail again. It was the last model that came with rigid forks and has 1" Aheadset with the cast titanium stem. Available in red but mine is the anodised blue/grey. Still love it to look at.

I've currently got a broken set of Judy DH forks on, which replaced a even more broken set of Judy XC's. The XC's elastomers just disintegrated and the DH's seem to have lost the rebound control.

So, looking for opinions and what to do next.

1) Put the rigids back on. Eugh!
2) Fix or refurbish one of the Judy's (not sure where to start with that :? ).
3) Get some of the carbon Specialized FSR forks that would kinda match.
4) Something else? Always quite fancied some Pace forks, but as with all of this, the problem is the 1" steerer. I'd need at least 160mm and preferably 180mm (it's a 20" frame).

What would you guys do? (Or point me at something over in the For Sale forum....)

Well the JUDY are newer era forks than the frame so refurbishing them is not to hard, clean them up, check the stanchions are fine (screws at the bottom ....)..
(probably 95 or 97ish depending on the type you have.

Personally I would go for era correct, it'll be the Spesh FS or the better Mag21 for the fork they would have used.

Of course Pace, Marzocchi XCs, Manitous etc could all be used and all came in 1" threadless. The length is not too long for a 20" frame 180mm is pretty short, 160mm very short. That about a 110mm headtube ? so shouldn't be hared to fine (20" frame are normally looking at 200/220mm + steerers).

But have a go at cleaning and fixing the judys you have anywhere, they're pretty simple. (search the forum for many how too over the years)
