K keithglos Senior Retro Guru Dec 19, 2019 #2 Re: Dayton (UK) did something like this in the early 50s, on a frame electically welded, frame tubes 1 inch. They also ran a road team including Dave Bedwell, and produced an alloy cotterless crank on a straight hexagon axle. Keith
