There is still the issue of the tyre slipping under braking. Unless you put like 40/45psi in the tyre. I normally run about 38psi.

I heard about smearing washing up liquid around the tyre bead to stop it moving. Not sure I wanna do that though.

Whats the average psi you guys running in your presta valved tubes then?

EDIT: @ Fingers. Missed your post as I was typing mine. Whats this tub tape then?

I would have thought washing up liquid would lube the tyres on the rim???

Tub tape -

For sticking road tubulars to rims (they dont have a shoulder a la clincher tyres)

You can use glue or this double sided tape.

On a clincher MTB rim the tub tape will be a bit of a bodge but may provide enough grip to stop the bead slipping.

It dries into a really sticky goo.

it happened to me yesterday on a schraeder valve .

just unlucky i think .

I run both type of valves and it is firt time it happened .

Presta are long and thin and aesthetically pleasing-schraeder are short and fat and not aesthetically pleasing.
Which are you :?:

I have never had this problem but my wheels do not go round enough to cause this problem
