It seems to have a peculiar amount of chrome on it but I have seen a Super Record with a chromed brake bridge and I've seen chromed stay caps before but that was on older models than this. Maybe they did this as a custom but with old frames you never know how they've been tweaked over the years. The seat stay caps wouldn't be engraved on an SR, a bottom bracket pic would answer everything for you. Don't dismiss it, you could get lucky!

Fully understand you being reticent,but with regard to the seatstay caps mine are also non engraved, my frame isn't a Brooklyn team but slightly later Ijboerke team which I think came directly after Brookklyn,the Gios frames of those 2 teams whilst blue and with suoer record stickers were very workmanlike, the chrome 'bling' is more fitting of its more modern vintage I feel, in my opinion a lot of frames got more 'bling' as bolt on brakes got replaced by allen key ones as tubing and braze on suppliers started offering cast bridges etc
He has sent me pics of the underside of the bottom bracket, which are poor but you can see a Gios panto, slotted shell and the number 50, which is the centre to absolute top measure. It is a later series SR in keeping with the fork tops. Of course it's been repainted and I think recently.

Thanks people, I'll keep an eye on it and decide when/if it reaches its reserve. It's a cm or so too small but that's not going to make much difference, top tube length is fine.
Small frames don't seem to turn up too often. With the lack of them popping up I've been half tempted to go for something new retro style like a Cinelli Supercorsa or De Rosa Nuovo Classico, even the new Holdsworth Pro, and put my SR on it but not sure it's a better alternative. I'm just an impatient person.
