What are the folder options for tall & heavy-ish (188cm 87kg) riders?
Raleigh stowaway/twenty has a very stiff folding lock design according to Sheldon, but as far as retromods go, it will be a pain to work with. Raleigh threading, fork/seatpost extension problems. meh.
There's one going for a fistful of £5 notes not too far away from me, but I might be at, or dangerously close to n+1=d situation.

I'm a bit heavier than you and 5cm shorter and get on really well with a Dawes kingpin with no issues at all. Standard BB etc so very easy to live with. A couple of mine...

Have another one (or two) with plans...

I’m 6’2 and made a (non folding) Raleigh Twenty work. The threading and stuff isn’t insurmountable but it’ll definitely help if you have your own taps and facing tools or are very friendly with someone that does. Average lbs would probably not be interested.

Sold my taps & facing tools unfortunately. Only have French thread taps left.

That's an idea though. Cross-tap Raleigh thread to French. It will certainly satisfy my sick perverted bike-wrenching fetish, but unlikely to produce any meaningful results.🤔

Folding bike. Designed by BMW!
Does that mean I'm allowed to be a complete RShole while riding it?
That design has been around longer than that. Rudge Bi-frame:

I found the problems quite a nice challenge - a couple of possible approaches for each.

Mine rides nicely, although I am still on the lookout for a slightly longer seatpost, but I'm a little taller. It's only of the bikes that survived the cull when I moved abroad and the remaining ones had to fit into storage. I should get it back and do some fine tuning.

I did want a Dawes Kingpin too, but that was what came up first and can't justify keeping two folders ........
