Fkn hate V brakes

I am rather on the fence.

Well adjusted cantis work fine....especially the wide leg jobbies and they do look better.

V brakes, just work, no need to be some kind of "cantilever wisperer" to get good performance.

As for modulation....cantis easier, but if your not ham fisted and just grabbing at the brake, v's are fine too. Just need a bit more control to use.

Both stop the wheel and make it skid....so there's no more to be had or said really! 🤣

Ok.
Bad day in the man cave?
Yes: vees ganging up on me: straddle wire has a disproportionate effect on pad distance; tension adjuster screws too little (a boy sent in to do a man’s job); spacers on pad posts too crude to fine tune pad distance, and when you do finally knock them into alignment, ‘on/off’ grabbyness.

I took solace in caressing my sweet CR720s and moon units (self centering sweeties) and could hear the Vees whispering behind my back (“he’s such a cant…”)

I wind the lever barrel adjuster out. Hold the arms together having already adjusted the blocks hitting the rim flat. With the arms together with the blocks on the rim, pull the cable through and do up.
Now wind the barrel adjuster all the way back into the lever. If you have judged it right, you’ll have freed up just enough cable for everything to work. Plus of course, maximum barrel adjuster travel for the future.
