fitting OURY grips - what's the best method?

An oldie but a baddie this thread!

So, my latest attempt (after the cable/zip-tie trick didn't work for me) has been:

Cleaned bars and rinsed thoroughly. Poked a tiny hole through end of each grip with a pin*. Inserted a penny into each grip and pushed in down with a pen. Spat on the handlebar and rubbed that spit around good and proper. Fitted grips. Left to dry.

RESULT WILL BE POSTED HERE IN 24 HOURS!

* I found the grips want to fire themselves off without at least a tiny air hole, it's physics innit ;)

Spit, hairspray, WD40 and rubber contact adhesive have all worked with "normal" grips. But the Ourys can be a hassle.

I think I used contact cement in the end. The zip-tie or "wire-on" idea also works. Put one wrap of wire around the grip - In the the last channel molded in the grip pattern. Twist the ends together very tight. Cut off the excess wire. Bang the end of the wire down into the channel in the grip.

Will at Hubjub sells some proper grip glue:

The most important thing when fitting Ourys on a bicycle is NOT to accidentally buy the MOTORCYCLE version. Cos one grip has a bigger inner bore to fit a twist-throttle and will slide straight off your bars
(Allegedly )
