Fisher cr_7 Bottom bracket query

Hi,
I obvs have a cr-7 with the press fit 6003 bearing style, BUT... from everything I've read on the web there is outer retaining circlips that retain it, issue I have come across is there is no grooves for the circlips to 'snap' into?? the inner surface is totally smooth,
Bike came to me in pieces so I never took it apart myself, had the frame blasted as well and the inner bb shell to see if there are any grooves but none. can anyone shed some light please.

Hi,

Only ever saw these with circlip grooves back in the day but if they are not there then you’ll have to install everything like a Klein does and use loctite.
