First retro roadbike - 1970's Puch Mistral

Getting to some of the detail work now, including giving the seatpost a bit of a clean up.

Photo is before and after of the same part, I used 600 grit, then 1500 grit emery cloth to clean the post up, before polishing it.

Put all back together and pretty pleased with the result.

Also, found the original stem marked 78J, (October 197, so the bike just got a year younger than I'd thought it was!

Brakes should have been top of the list, but the new callipers took ages to arrive.

Before (Shimano Tourney front, Wiennmann 500 rear).
After (Weinnmann 400 Carrera front and rear).

New stainless cables fitted, (purchased from my local bike shop).
Full set of new brake pads are on their way, then I'll fit them and trim off the end of the brake cables and fit the nipples.

Quite pleased with how much neater and cleaner the new callipers look.

This is bicycle number 5, but the others are too new;
2014 Land Rover Hydro 650B, (+ crud catchers)
2012 Land Rover Aero (Hybrid touring bike with panniers)
2008 Land Rover DSX90, (modified full sus - only the frame is original).

Though this one might count as retro, and is the one I've had longest;
1975 Triumph Traffic Master, (town bike);
- This one I bought for £20 from an old guy in Clacton who's brother had owned it since new. Quick clean up and put into use - quite good fun and gets a good few looks.

And some nice new alloy MKS-E pedals to replace the worn old MKS pedals it came with.

New pedals are a bit chunkier but have a bit more grip to them.

From memory Suntour chainset, front & rear mechs, & gear levers Maillard hubs/ Mavic rims, some had Weinman some Universal brakes ( model dependent) ITM or no name bars & stem, no name seat post, various makes of Italian saddles Vittoria Tyre's & tubes.
