First resto, Carlton International.

Re:

Just got back from the Isle of wight, I took the Carlton with me and enjoyed every minute of riding it whilst there. It really does ride better than i had hoped. Im smitten with it.

John the wax you sent me has worked wonders on the saddle, it has a proper lustre to it now. Thanks again.

always good to see a bike 'back on the road' giving its owner enjoyment..!.... :)

Good luck on the restoration.I spent loads on my ritmo,It's not about the money,It's saving old bikes and enjoying the work.keep posting.

Re:

Cracking job . Another bike saved .
Always makes me mad when I see old classics left the an unknown fate.

Re:

Thanks guys, i think the fact that i brought it back into use is why im getting more fun out of riding it than i do my modern. And i enjoyed the doing the work to it so much im on the look out for others. There must be thousands of old bike languishing in sheds up and down the country.

The wider tyres than on my modern mean i can take on the odd bridleway too. I didn't find the lack of gears much hardship either, but i am planing to give the bike 10 speeds, i would be able to ride anywhere then.

Re:

Couldn't resist making some tweaks to the bike, I replaced the bar tape with black stuff for practical reasons but didn't like the look, the original was White so i chose to replace it with white while i was replacing the brake levers.

The original GB levers were a bit battered and they didnt feel good in my hands so i swapped them for some shinny drilled Wienmans.

I think the white tape looks much better.

Did 16 Miles this Morning, popped over the border into Derbyshire, And as i hoped the levers and tape feel much better in the hand.

Re:

nice job on the bike but I do sense it is rather spoiled by some rather poor wrapping of the handlebar tape
